The Planning Board performs reviewing, revising, and creating  zoning by-laws considering future planning, business, welfare, and safety of residents as per Massachusetts General Laws. 

​

ANR’s (Approval not required): All ANR’s must meet the required standards in the town’s zoning by-laws. Fee is subject to change and a blank  A9 form can be provided upon request from the town administrative assistant or planning board. The following items must be submitted to the planning board for review and approval:

​

• A printed and signed copy of Form A-ANR completed by the requesting property owner. Form may be downloaded or provided by the town admin assistant or planning board.

• A check to the Town of Middlefield for $35.00 (Fee subject to change)

• 6 surveyed plot plans (one being mylar)
   

Subdivision approvals: MA General Law - Subdivisions
 

Special Permits: The Planning Board advises residents to reference the Town of Middlefield’s zoning bylaws regarding whether it is the Planning Board and/or the Zoning Board as the Special Permit Granting Authority.
